C&C3: GDI Predator Tank

An amazing contribution by Trent "Nothing" Henry.

The Predator is equipped with an armor-piercing cannon and can withstand heavy fire thanks to its thick plating. However, it is ineffective against infantry and vulnerable to hostile aircraft unless supported with anti-air defenses.

Some small stuff

Its a been a long time since i updated, been really busy with collage work, and also was too wiped out by to do anything productive for a while. But now i got some stuff, though admittedly small, and way too late, i am posting.

Finally made the temples for the mammoth mart 3 rocket pods and railguns, with some rudimentary instructions, hopefully u can figure them out. U can get them here.

Also, there has been some confusion about the Juggernaut model. There is actually only one model, but with 2 different textures, one desert camo, one snow camo. Anyway, i have uploaded PDOs, and PDFs for both textures here.

Ok thats the small update for now, i am working on some bigger stuff, and also got more people to contribute, so keep checking back for more stuff.

Uploaded the PDF file, however, you will need to download the PDO file for direction to building it.

Finally, a NOD unit! And an air unit at that. But be warned, this one has a lot of curves, and thus is gonna be a lot harder to build than any of the previous ones. As always, I just finished designing the templet, and haven't test built it yet. So there might be flaws. The download is in pdo format, so u can change the scale, or shift around the pieces quiet easily in Paperkura Desiger. Please send pics if u have build it!

Thanks to Alex06 for pointing me in the right direction in the case of extraction of data from C&C 3 and KW. But its still no walk in the park.

Also thanks to Skip, for coming forward to help with the designing, i know we have diffrent ways of doing things, but i really do appreciate ur willingness to help.

A tip if you can't open the PDF files in your browser, when u get to the download site, and it says "click here to download", right click on it, and select "save as". That way it will be saved into ur computer.

This one is for the fans of the olders games. The mesh was taking from Renegade. Again, i just finished designing the template, so haven't test built it yet. So there might be flaws. Hope some of u might test build it and send some pictures :)

And as always, feedback is welcome.

C&C 3 Mammoth Tank buildable!

Finally finished up building the Mammoth tank. All together its reletively easy, though a bit tedious. My build is not that good, as resently am not feeling so well, and also my printer cocked up on one page (one of the treads is lighter in colour), and i realised the paper was a bit too thick (I now recommend u use bout 160gms to 180gms for this model). Here are the pics:

And now, i will take a bit of a well deserved brake, and play my resently accuired Kanes Wrath! But dont worry, i would be posting more models soon!

C&C3: GDI Mammoth Mrk III

The Mammoth Tank is the Global Defense Initiative's heavy hitting, thick-armored war-machine. When it was developed, it was so immediately intimidating to Nod that Kane specifically targeted their production facilities to keep them off the battlefield. The two giant tank cannons are its most obvious threat, but it is also armed with rocket pods to deal with smaller targets. The most important aspect of the Mammoth is the extremely heavy armor which provides a level of battlefield resiliency unrivaled by anything seen in the Tiberium Wars.

OK I have just finished building the Scud launcher and the TOS-1, and I declare them buildable!

Though i must admit the TOS-1 was pretty difficult to make, with all the small part. Check out the rest of the photos here.

I have already started work on the Mammoth tank from C&C3, as per the outcome of the poll. So u could expect it in about 2 weeks time. If u were rooting for the other models, don’t be disheartened; I would be doing all of them, sooner or later.

Finally finished the Scud Launcher. The pdo file was kind of screwed up, and i couldn't find a way to fix it up. But I edited whatever i could salvage from the pdo in PS, and produced a PDF file. I have put in all then instructions, hopefully u guys can understand.

The Kodiak is GDI's mobile command center. Commander McNeil and his crew reside on the Kodiak and use it to travel from battle to battle. Typicaly, the Kodiak observes the battle from afar. Generals Shockwave: China TOS-1 "Buratino"

Finally after some time, I have finalized the webpage, and finished the TOS-1 "Buratino". The PDF file is unlabeled, so you would need the .pdo file to help you build. To open that, you need the Papekura viewer. Scroll down to the right under the "Programs you might need" for the link.

What are Papercrafts?
Also known as paper models, card models, it is the art (if i might say so) of cutting up paper, and gluing them into objects or replicals.

Isn't Papercraft and Origami the same?
No, Papercrafts are about cutting and gluing multiple pieces of papers together to create an item, Origami is about folding a single sheet of paper into an item.

What are PDO files? What other software would I need?

PDO files are sort of 3D instructions for the models. PDO files can be opened with the Pepakura Viewer. Also you would need Adobe Reader to open PDF files.

I am new to Papercrafting, What do i need to get started?
Here are some links to get you started:

What kind of paper do I need to print on? What kind of Glue do I use? What kind of cutter do I use?
The links above should give u a good idea of what meterials to use. As for paper, normal office paper would be too thin. Instead you should be using cardstock, with a thickness of about 120gms (grams per meter square) to 250gms. Generals the models in this site will work well with paper of thickness 160gms.

The models are so impossible to build! Make them simpler!
If you are totally new to papercrafting, I suggest starting with simpler papercraft available on the net (have a look under my links menu, or the links above). As you do more, and get a good sense of papercrafting, these models will become easier to build.

There are a lot of flaws in the templets! Fix them!
I too am learning as I do more and more papercrafts, and i only recently started designing papercrafts. So there are bound to be mistakes and flaws. Please bear with them, and when i have the opportunity i will try fixing them. While that you are free to use your own resourcefulness to fix any flaws.

How to you go about designing the templets?

I would be putting up some tutorials some time later, if i am in the mood and have the time.
